Over the past decades, David Fincher has established himself as one of the most talented filmmakers. His psychological thrillers advanced the genre. Fincher has established himself as one of the best visionaries working today with films such as Zodiac, The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, and Se7en. The Killer, which has been in development limbo for nearly two decades, will be the director’s next feature. The film will eventually be available on Netflix later this year. Everything we know about David Fincher’s The Killer is included below.

The Killer will be directed by Golden Globe and Oscar contender David Fincher, who is known for critically acclaimed films such as Gone Girl, Mank, The Social Network, Zodiac, Se7en, and many others. David Fincher is one of Hollywood’s most talented visionaries, with an impressive filmography.

For Netflix’s The Killer, Fincher will collaborate with Se7en writer Andrew Kevin Walker. Walker also penned the Academy Award-winning picture The Wolfman and the 1999 film Sleepy Hollow, starring Johnny Depp. Ceán Chaffin, Fincher’s longtime producer collaborator, is in charge of the production.

When will Netflix release The Killer?
The Killer began production in Paris in November 2021, with additional locations including New Orleans, the Dominican Republic, and St. Charles, Illinois. Filming was completed in late March 2022.

Netflix said The Killer will be released globally on November 10th, 2023, as part of the 2023 movie slate reveal. The Killer will be available on Netflix on November 10, 2023. The film joins a crowded November slate that includes The Marvels on the same day. Dune: Part Two will be released on November 3, followed by The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes the following week, on November 17.

What is the plot of The Killer on Netflix?
The Killer on Netflix is based on the French graphic novel of the same name by author Alexis Nolent (pen name Matz) and illustrator Luc Jacamon. The first book was released in 1998, and the most recent in 2017. It is unknown which elements of the graphic novel will be adapted for the film, but if The Killer is a success, there may be room for sequels. Netflix describes the killer synopsis as follows: “Solitary, cold, methodical, and unencumbered by scruples or regrets, a killer waits in the shadows, watching for his next target. Yet the longer he waits, the more he thinks he’s losing his mind, if not his cool. A brutal, bloody, and stylish noir story of a professional assassin lost in a world without a moral compass, this is a case study of a man alone, armed to the teeth, and slowly losing his mind.”

Who Is in The Killer’s Cast?
While we don’t yet have the complete cast roster, The Killer already has some stars. The Killer will be led by Oscar and Golden Globe nominee Michael Fassbender, best known for his roles in X-Men, 12 Years a Slave, Steve Jobs, Macbeth, and other films. Fassbender will play the titular killer, who acquires a conscience during the film. Tilda Swinton was later confirmed as part of the cast. Snowpiercer, The French Dispatch, Marvel’s Doctor Strange, and Netflix’s Okja are among her best-known films.

Is there a trailer for The Killer?
The Killer has yet to receive a trailer. However, a three-minute featurette was released in December of last year. In the clip, Michael Fassbender describes what it was like to return to work for the first time since the pandemic began. He additionally speaks about his early experiences working for David Fincher. While this is purely behind-the-scenes footage, we can see the dark lighting and environment that will most likely be included in the finished result. Fassbender’s voiceover provides a preview of the film’s appearance once an official trailer is released.

While The Killer is still a few months away, there are plenty of other Fincher films to enjoy in the meantime. But be sure to mark your calendars for November 10, because “The Killer” will be available to watch on Netflix!
