After eight years of leaving the show, Letterman appeared as a guest when he went to the Ed Sullivan Theatre, where the show was being filmed.
After the guest came into the show’s cameras! All the audience members watching the live showered and greeted Lettermen with a warm welcome and standing ovation, and the claps continued even after the ex-host sat in the seat.
“Stephen, control your people!” Letterman joked. “This is the most enthusiastic audience I have been near since the night I announced I was quitting.”
Letterman shared that he was delighted to be back again and that there have been a lot of changes in the Sullivan Theatre after he left. “It’s like a mall! It’s unbelievable. It’s like Rodeo Drive,“ he said
