OpenAI Picks New Board Members Showcasing Different Experiences and Ideologies
The firing and rehiring of OpenAI’s founders, Sam Altman and Greg Brockman, has led to a decision to doubt the real capabilities of the board for making changes to the company.
Right now, the new board member, including the economist Larry Summers, along with former Salesforce Co-CEO Bret Taylor, as chair, and the retention of Quora CEO Adam D’ Angelo is the major changes made to the board.
Besides the abovementioned experience, he currently sits as the board member for the company behind the Cash app and the software company named Skill Sot.
Salesforce Co-CEO Bret Taylor has experience catering to tech companies and is behind the success of tech companies like Salesforce. He has also worked as the chief technology officer for Facebook.
The other new board member, the CEO of Quora, Adam D’ Angelo, has been part of the OpenAI board since 2018, and it’s decided that he will continue to serve as the board member.
He has worked with prominent minds like Mark Zuckerberg during high school, where they developed a music suggestion software together. Later, he worked as Facebook’s chief technology officer and founded Quora in 2009.
The trio of new board members has more experience than the previous board members. Over and above, OpenAI confirmed that they have made an agreement with Sam Altman to return and continue with his duties for OpenAI.
