Marvel Fires Jonathan Majors After Found Guilty

Let’s look at the latest twist in the Marvel Cinematic Universe saga. Do you know Jonathan Majors? The man known as Kang the Conqueror in the Marvel Cinematic Universe? Real-life drama has just thrown a cosmic wrench in Marvel’s great plans.

The Guilty Verdict and MCU’s Leading Man

So here’s the deal: Jonathan Majors was found guilty of reckless assault and harassment in the third degree by a Manhattan jury on December 18. This originates from a tense confrontation with his former, Grace Jabbari, in March. Before this legal saga, Majors was Marvel’s golden kid, ready to lead the charge in the next Avengers: The Kang Dynasty, released on May 1, 2026.

Marvel has some deliberating to do. The studio is considering two possibilities. To begin, they could recast Kang the Conqueror, but let’s be honest, there are better decisions after such a huge backlash. The other, more exciting possibility is a whole redo. Yes, it’s a new antagonist to mix things up. Isn’t it true that Marvel has always been about surprises?

Marvel is a few steps ahead of us. They’ve been discreetly altering their plans for months, according to rumors. In November, they hired Michael Waldron, the man behind Loki, to write a new script. What was once known as the Kang Dynasty is now known as Avengers 5. Isn’t that sneaky?

This isn’t Marvel’s first time recasting a character. Remember Terrence Howard in Iron Man as James Rhodes? Yes, he dropped out due to some salary squabbles, and in came Don Cheadle. With The Incredible Hulk, Edward Norton and Mark Ruffalo created their superhero musical chairs.

Before this legal saga, Majors was a rising Hollywood star. He was on fire from Creed III to The Last Black Man in San Francisco. However, his career is now in jeopardy. Even his film Magazine Dreams is in jeopardy after being withdrawn from the release schedule due to the legal wrangling.

Let’s take a step back. Majors was arrested on March 25 after contacting 911 and claiming to have discovered Jabbari unconscious in their New York residence. When the police discovered injuries on her, the legal battle began. Majors faced the judge’s wrath while pleading not guilty, and his PR company and managers discarded him like a hot potato.
